Acupuncture/Acupressure Inserting and manipulating fine filiform needles to putting pressure into specific points on the body to relieve physical and mental imbalance. Pressure points are situated on 12 meridians along which qi (life force energy) flows. The practitioner will use all five senses to observe a patient's state of health. They will specifically read the tongue and heart beat as a reference to asses where imbalance sits, and how it is relative to the rest of the body. Treating the cause and not just the symptom of a problem. Ayurvedic Massage Uses a vigorous touch and special attention to particular pressure points, intended to stimulate certain organ systems. A great deal of emphasis is placed on stimulating the digestive system in Ayurvedic tradition, making this particular massage technique especially beneficial to those suffering from digestion imbalance. Body Exfoliation A gentle way of sloughing off the dead skin to reveal fresh and radiant skin from head to toe. Cancer Massage Works to eliminate heavy toxin loads as a result of cancer treatments such as radiation or chemo-therapy; leads to improved blood circulation; equalized blood pressure, and helps with fatigue, nausea and stress. Cranio Sacral Therapy Gently works with the spine, the skull and its cranial sutures, diaphragms, and fascia; restrictions of nerve passages are said to be eased, the movement of cerebrospinal fluid through the spinal cord can be optimized, and misaligned bones are said to be restored to their proper position; can be used to treat mental stress, neck and back pain, migraines, TMJ syndrome, and other chronic pain conditions. Deep Tissue Massage Focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue; especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as stiff necks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders. This technique is slower and the pressure is deeper and concentrated on areas of tension and pain. Hot Stone Massage Heated smooth flat stones are placed on key points on the body; hot stones are usually made of basalt, a type of rock that is rich in iron, so they retain heat. Heat warms and relaxes the muscles, which allows the therapist to apply deeper pressure if desired. The warmth of the hot stones improve circulation and calm the nervous system. This is helpful for those struggling with back pain and aches, poor circulation, osteoarthritis and arthritis pain, stress, anxiety and tension, insomnia and depression. Immune Boosting Aroma-Massage Uses various components extracted from plants like essential oils, herbal distillates, infusions, and carrier oils. The aroma massage boosts the state of your immune system while also stimulating muscle tension, inspiring an enhanced state of both physical and metaphysical balance. Medical Massage Performed with the intent of improving conditions or pathologies that have been diagnosed by a physician; a wide variety of modalities or procedures are utilized to focus the medical massage treatment based on the diagnosed condition. Menopause Massage Special attention is paid to the abdominal and lower back areas, also working with pressure points and the shiatsu massage technique in order to balance hormones; stress levels are reduced through relaxation techniques provided for each individual in the take-home self- care system. Myotherapy A deep muscle trigger-point therapy utilizing the interrelationships with the body to indirectly bring ease to one area by putting pressure on another; similar to acupressure; particularly beneficial as a pain management system. Naturopathy Evaluates conditions using scientific observation (such as blood testing) and elaborate questioning. Patient is then treated after being observed for patterns of change, and uses more traditional methods like homeopathy, natural supplements, and nutritional counseling. Pre and Post Natal Massage A specialized version of Swedish massage for pregnant women; special positioning and equipment are used to make sure the baby is safe and the mother is comfortable during treatment. Massage during pregnancy has been show to improve mood, reduce edema, stress, swelling, varicose veins, and pressure on weight bearing joints, as well as address muscle aches and sciatica. Please check with your physician before starting pregnancy massage. Reflexology Based on the principal that there are reflexes in the feet, hands and ears which correspond to every part, gland and organ of the body. Through application of pressure on these reflexes without the use of tools, cremes or lotions, the feet being the primary area of application, reflexology relieves tension, improves circulation and helps promote the natural function of the related areas of the body. Reiki A spiritual Japanese healing technique using the palms as a means of utilizing what is often referred to as "life force energy;" practitioner works with energetic frequency to inspire the body to relax and heal itself. Shiatzu Meridian Massage Works with the 12 energetic channels in the body called meridians. This is similar to the concept behind acupuncture and acupressure. Shiatsu stimulates certain points in order to target and open blockages along a specific channel. Each of these channels connects to every part and organ in the body. It increases vitality, stamina and energy. Thai Body Work Combines Hatha yoga and acupressure to stretch the muscles and open the joints; also know as "lazy man's yoga." |
